John Muir High School Alumni Association to Host Fireside Chat . . .

. . . With District 1 Councilmember Jacque Robinson

(Pasadena, CA – April 21, 2013) -- On Thursday, May 9th at 6:30 p.m., the Honorable Jacque Robinson will sit down with Pasadena Weekly's Andre Coleman for a Fireside Chat hosted by John Muir High School Alumni Association (JMHSAA). Ms. Robinson will be interviewed from nowhere other than the library at her alma mater John Muir High School, 1905 N. Lincoln Avenue, Pasadena, CA.

During this event, Ms. Robinson will connect with her community, JMHSAA members and prospective members to discuss plans and proposals and what's happening in her district. Alumni and friends of John Muir High School and residents of District 1 are encouraged to attend.

[About Jacque Robinson:  At the age of 28, Jacque Robinson became the youngest elected official in the history of Pasadena. Currently in her second term, the Pasadena native is a product of and honored to serve in the district she now represents. Her policy initiatives lie in economic and business development, public safety, transportation, and youth development. Ms. Robinson has worked professionally on congressional, state, and local electoral campaigns for the California Teachers Association, Service Employees International Union, and Philadelphia AFL-CIO, and serves as a speaker and trainer on topics including civic engagement and running for office. Jacque recently started a small consulting firm and has served as adjunct faculty at Pasadena City College. She is the current Chair of the Foothill Workforce Investment Board and was recently appointed as a Commissioner to the Burbank Bob Hope Airport Authority. A proud public school graduate, Jacque is an alumna of John Muir High School class of 1996 and earned her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley and Master in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge.]

[About Andre Coleman:  Andre Coleman serves as Deputy Editor at Pasadena Weekly. Mr. Coleman has been a staff writer for various newspapers in the Pasadena and Los Angeles area for 20 years. He has served the Pasadena area with his careful, hard-hitting, no-nonsense, journalism. His work garnered two Los Angeles Press Club awards for a story he wrote which became the basis for the film "Lake View Terrace." His second award was for the article, "Body of Evidence," about a missing Pasadena Police Officer that was first ruled suicide and then a homicide. Mr. Coleman has also written several books and now adds filmmaker to his repertoire; currently working on his debut sci-fi project "Gifts of Paradise."]

[About the John Muir High School Alumni Association:  The John Muir High School Alumni Association (JMHSAA) exists with the principal purpose of supporting the academic and extracurricular programs and student activities at the school through contributions of funds, volunteer service, equipment and materials.
