August 9-11:  Bustamante Antique Show and Sale

Antiques and collectibles ranging from 17th century tapestries to art nouveau and deco accessories and jewelry are featured at the show. Prestigious dealers from throughout the country display millions of dollars' worth of such rarities as Tiffany lamps, Ming vases, Renaissance furniture and paintings, Georgian silver, and many other unique antiquities.

August 10-11:  Eighth Annual Back to School Autism/Asperger's Conference

Recognize the abilities that appear locked inside children with Autism, learn how to prevent meltdowns, get strategies for teaching social skills, find out how to increase peer acceptance, and much more during general sessions and breakout sessions featuring Autism/Asperger's experts. This conference is open to students with Autism/Asperger's, their parents and family members, and professionals including speech language pathologists, audiologists, nurses, licensed clinical social workers, and marriage and family therapists. Lori Ernsperger, Ph.D., BCBD, is Saturday's keynote speaker and Temple Grandin, Ph.D., is Sunday's keynote speaker.

August 23-25:  Pro Photo Expo 2013

Professional Photographers of California presents the year's biggest photo trade show during its 60th Western States Convention. Learn about the latest in equipment, computer software, albums, frames, backdrops, labs and so much more.

August 30 - September 1:  The International Gem and Jewelry Show

Industry professionals and the general public enjoy a large selection of jewelry at deep discounts. The show features top-quality diamonds, silver, gold, opals, rubies, watches, earrings, necklaces, rings, settings, onsite sizing and repairs, and onsite jewelry cleaning at affordable prices.

Friday noon – 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

August 31 - September 1:  2013 La Open Joola Table Tennis Tournament

This USTTA-sanctioned, four-star event features some of the world's top-ranked players, including 2004 Olympic Men's Singles gold medal winner Ryu Seung-Min and 2012 Olympic Men's Singles bronze medal winner Dimitrij Ovtcharov. All skill levels and all age groups are represented. Winners share $36,000 in prizes, including $10,000 for the open singles winner.

Games start at 8:30 a.m. and finish when scheduled games are completed.
Saturday $20, Sunday $30, two-day pass $40, VIP ticket $200.
