How can you make our community a more desirable place to live for children, youths, families and all citizens? Participate in the new School/City/Community Work Plan!
You are invited to join us for this special, roll-up-your-sleeves, kick-off event on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Pasadena High School, 2925 E. Sierra Madre Blvd, Pasadena.
Please bring your ideas and willingness to work on how we can align services, resources and strategies from the Pasadena Unified School District, the City and the Community to improve the lives of our children, youths and families. You'll hear Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard, School District Superintendent Jon Gundry and City Manager Michael Beck share their priorities and commitments to the School/City/Community Work Plan that was approved by the Pasadena City Council and PUSD Board of Education in February. Then, it's your turn!
We'll have facilitated planning sessions for you to help lay the groundwork for working together and to develop recommendations to move the Work Plan forward during the next six to eight months.
Planning groups will be formed around seven "Results Areas" on early childhood education; academic success; health and social services; involvement and learning in the community; stable and supportive environments; family engagement, and system-wide delivery.
Be sure to mark your calendars and join us as we work together to make a difference in the lives of our children, youths, families and schools.
