Alpha Kappa Alpha Local Chapter Celebrates 54th Anniversary

African American news from Pasadena - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority celebratesPasadena, CA – March 8, 2014 - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Eta Lambda Omega Chapter celebrated their 54th chapter anniversary on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Scarlet Tea Room in Pasadena.

The ladies arrived to enjoy the festivities, in their finest hats and enjoyed each other's company over delicious scones, sandwiches and tea. They were joined by four of their chartering members, Alma Hill, Mae Cowan, Regenia Moses and Mary Lattimore.

All had a wonderful time reflecting the wonderful years Eta Lambda Omega has served the Pasadena community. Each lady left with a precious teacup and saucer to commemorate this special occasion.

[Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1908 on the campus of Howard University as the first Greek-letter organization for African-American women and currently boasts an international membership of over 260,000 college-trained women. The Eta Lambda Omega chapter was chartered on March 6, 1960 and has dedicated itself to serving the Pasadena/Altadena area for the past 54 years. Some of the chapter's signature programs include the annual Health Summit, Young Authors, Emerging Young Leaders, Martin Luther King Day of Service, Scholarship Workshop, and Power Networking.]
