Our children's program is open to all children, whether they read on their own or have families read to them. Participants simply check-in with their reading log at the Altadena Library where they signed up, either at the Main Library Children's Department or the Bob Lucas Branch, and they can earn rewards for every week they check-in.
Prizes increase with each check-in, so make sure to sign up early and stop by each week! Also when you fill out a book review — either write it or draw it — you enter a chance to win gift cards to places like Toys R Us, Vromans Bookstore, and Target!
If your child has "checked-in" at least twice (2 weeks) after you sign up, they are automatically entered in the GRAND PRIZE raffle drawing at the end of the program on August 5th.
Furthermore, there will be weekly events open to all families regardless of participation in the Summer Reading Club. From a snazzy New Orleans-inspired jazz band, juggling acts, magic shows, and even some fun critters, families will not want to miss our fun and unique program line up.
Programming for children and families will be held every Tuesday from July 1st to August 5th 2:00 p.m. at the Main Library Barbara J. Pearson Community Room and again at 4:00 p.m. at the Bob Lucas Branch.
