Pasadena of yore will come alive as Friends In Deed celebrates 120 years of bringing help and hope to those most in need with a Walk Through History led by KNBC Weatherman Fritz Coleman November 5 at historic Castle Green.
Through song and fashion, special friends of Friends In Deed and the wider community will celebrate That's What Friends are For in the lively revue of the decades. The revue will highlight key moments in Friends In Deed's history coinciding with major developments in the growth of Pasadena.

Ed Barron to Deliver Keynote
Duarte will express its thanks to outstanding community volunteers and kick off the holiday season at the 29th annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast and 27th annual Duarte Chamber Community Service Recognition Awards. The event will be held Tuesday, November 25 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the City of Hope Cooper Auditorium, 1500 E. Duarte Road. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance from the Duarte Chamber of Commerce, at Duarte City Hall, or online at www.duartechamber.com. A limited amount of tickets will be available at the door.

Free Public Forum November 6
"Mentally Ill? Go Directly to Jail. Do Not Pass Go." is the title of a public forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters Pasadena Area November 6, at 10 a.m., at the Pasadena Women's City Club, 160 N. Madison Avenue, Pasadena.
The forum will address the issue of jails becoming warehouses for the mentally ill and possible "get out of jail free cards" through alternatives proposed by both the American Civil Liberties Union and L.A. County Dist. Atty. Jackie Lacey.
