Dear District 3 Resident,
As we begin a New Year we tend to reflect on the past and look ahead to the New Year to achieve our resolutions. Since being appointed District 3 Councilmember last September I’ve had the privilege to meet numerous individuals, groups and organizations across the City of Pasadena who work tirelessly at the grassroots level each day for the benefit of the whole community. All have raised legitimate concerns regarding environmental benchmarks, housing affordability, business opportunities, and quality of life issues. We have a lot to accomplish, however we find solace and guidance in the wise teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. "If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." In the year ahead, District 3 will move forward on the Sunset Complex Project, the Robinson Park Recreation Center swimming pool, the Heritage Square South Phase II Housing Project and among other developments, we welcome Pasadena Studios LP, affordable housing units. The City Council continues to implement elements of the Master Plan to improve quality of life for all and future generations. Today however, we pause to celebrate the life and legacy of a man whose life and example continue to inspire and motivate each of us to be better and more thoughtful human beings. On behalf of myself and the District 3 Team, we wish you a joyful and productive day of service in the name of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Warm regards, |
