Three amazing seniors in our community celebrated 90+ birthdays in June and July.
Ms. Katherine Alberta Martin of Pasadena celebrated her 95th birthday on June 23, 2012.
Ms. De Graze Moore Law of Pasadena celebrated her 94th birthday on June 30, 2012.
Ms. Mattie Woodard of Altadena celebrated her 93rd birthday on July 9, 2012.
Each of these cherished seniors celebrated amidst a gathering of family, friends and well-wishers from the 90+ Dream Team Ministry of First AME Church of Pasadena where they are all long-standing members. The 90+ Dream Team Ministry presented a gift from the church to each of them to show their caring and remembrance.
Since its inception last year, the 90+ Ministry continues to recognize 90+ senior church members. The team participates in or leads the individual birthday celebrations and fulfills the desire of their hearts with the appropriate gift. In so doing, the bible teaching of Leviticus 19:32 is fulfilled: "Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God."
