Student Musicians at Summer School

African American news from Pasadena - News - Music and educationPictured here are student musicians learning how to read and play music.

Learning to play a musical instrument is one of the experiences that can enrich a child's life and improve their study skills because, among other things, they must study to learn the songs.

Those study skills transfer to learning math, english, history and even science.  Learning music has other benefits, too.  Among those, musical training helps develop brain areas involved in language and reasoning; encourages creative thinking and problem solving; enhances teamwork skills and discipline; and allows for a method of self expression which builds confidence.

Parents seeking life activities and alternatives to take up a child's idle time, can find no more rewarding experience than having them take music lessons.

Every dollar spent on purchasing a piano, trumpet, guitar or other instrument is an investment. It will pay off in a thousand ways that will make the child happy, proud and build up his/her self esteem!

Children, music and education:  a win-win-win for everyone.
