December Movies at Pasadena Senior Center for Members and Guests
The Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St., offers free onsite Friday Movie Matinees every month. December comes just in time for some modern Christmas film classics. "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (1989, PG) Starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo – Friday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. America's favorite movie family, the Griswolds, plan for a big, happy Christmas that turns into a hilarious disaster. "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (2000, PG) Starring Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen – Friday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. A green revenge-seeking Grinch who lives on the outskirts of Whoville plans to ruin Christmas for all the citizens of the town. "The Christmas Chronicles" (2018, PG) Starring Kurt Russell and Darby Camp. On Christmas Eve, a brother and sister's plan to catch Santa Claus on camera turns into an unexpected journey most children could only dream about. Seating will be limited and reservations will be required on a first-come, first-served basis. Each member of the Pasadena Senior Center may reserve one additional seat for a nonmember guest. In addition to online classes, onsite events and other activities, members and nonmembers of the Pasadena Senior Center are encouraged to visit the website regularly for a monthly magazine, COVID updates specifically for older adults and more. The center, at 85 E. Holly St., is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit organization that has served older adults for more than 60 years. During the pandemic, doors are open Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for social services and other critical services for older adults in need as well as limited occupancy for events, the library, fitness center and computer lab. Masks and social distancing are required. Rooms are sanitized after each use. In accordance with county public health guidelines, proof of COVID vaccination before entry to PSC will be required for everyone who uses the fitness center or attends onsite activities indoors. |
