Dinner in the Park Volunteer Registration Now Open 10/28/21
Volunteer registration for Union Station Homeless Services’ annual Dinner in the Park is now open on www.Unionstationhs.org and the Volunteer Portal. For over 50 years, thousands of volunteers have helped prepare and serve meals to all who are hungry at Pasadena’s Central Park on Thanksgiving Day. However, this year’s Dinner in the Park will be different, but just as impactful for those in need. To adhere to COVID-19 safety measures, the event format has been adapted to include complete takeaway meals for families and individuals to cook or heat up at home, and private sit-down dinners at Adult Center, Centennial Place, and the Family Center on Thanksgiving Day. Due to this year's unique circumstances and to ensure the health and safety of our clients, staff and volunteers, there will be a reduced number of volunteer opportunities available for Dinner in the Park. Volunteer spots are available on a first come basis, and there will be no additional volunteers once the spots have been filled. Other Ways to Help Union Station Homeless Services Purchase ingredients needed for the Thanksgiving "All the Fixings" Meal Boxes. For clients who have access to a kitchen and want to cook their own meal, you can help us create Thanksgiving “All the Fixings” Meal Supply Boxes, filled with all the ingredients needed for a delicious meal. Boxes come complete with tips from our Food Services staff! Check out the In-Kind Wishlist. Host a Food Drive: To be able to provide Thanksgiving meals to our clients, we are in critical need of meal ingredients and supplies for packaging and serving.
