In a recent article published by Pasadena Now, California State Assembly District 41 candidate, Dr. Phlunté Riddle, Psy.D, has recently been endorsed by Assemblymember Dr. Corey Jackson, securing significant support for her campaign. Jackson currently represents the 60th Assembly District, situated in Riverside County, and is the founder of SBX Youth and Family Services. The organization strives to combat poverty and violence through educational, mentoring, and community organizing initiatives.
Jackson made history in November 2022 as the first Black openly LGBTQ+ person elected to serve in the California State Assembly. Meanwhile, Riddle has been breaking barriers throughout her career, which spans nearly 30 years at the Pasadena Police Department, where she rose from a patrol officer to a detective and community liaison. Additionally, she made history as the first African American female sergeant, lieutenant, and sworn adjutant to the Chief of Police.
Assembly District 41 encompasses eastern Los Angeles County and western San Bernardino County. The district includes popular San Gabriel aaa
Valley communities such as Claremont, Pasadena, La Cañada Flintridge, Sierra Madre, San Dimas, La Verne, and Altadena, as well as Inland Empire communities like Upland, Phelan, Lytle Creek, Rancho Cucamonga, Wrightwood, and Hesperia. Riddle took to her Facebook account to express her appreciation for Assemblymember Jackson's endorsement, stating, "I am grateful for Assemblymember Corey A. Jackson's endorsement. He is a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community and has worked to address the root causes of violence in his community. I'm excited to work with Assemblymember Jackson to expand economic and educational opportunities for all."
