El Segundo, CA -- On Sunday, October 20, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Vistamar School will host its sixth annual Multicultural Student College Fair at its campus in El Segundo. One hundred colleges, universities and service academies will be exhibiting at the fair. These institutions seek to meet Los Angeles area high school students of all backgrounds, with a special interest in students from historically underrepresented cultural groups. Attendance is free for all students.
Event planners estimate between 800-1,000 students will attend the fair.
The attraction for students is to meet representatives from institutions they might not otherwise be able to visit in person. The list of institutions includes some of the nation's most selective colleges such as Harvard, Stanford, Duke, MIT, Princeton, UCLA and the University of Chicago.
Also in attendance will be many private liberal arts colleges, public institutions from numerous states, as well as several historically black colleges and universities. The complete list of participating institutions is available at www.vistamarschool.org/collegefair.
