America is faced with an election in the midst of an epidemic also known as a pandemic because it is a disease that affects the world. I support Joe Biden’s candidacy, in part because it is, in effect, the continuation of the Barack Obama administration. Biden knows the job because he has performed the job as Vice President, and with Trump, he has shown we need someone with experience.
I also like the promise of Biden to pick a female as a running mate. I also believe that his election would signal an African American woman or man on the Supreme Court. I don’t count Clarence Thomas, as I see him as an appointment to punish Black America, following Civil Rights giant, Thurgood Marshall. This election comes in the midst of the Coronovirus Pandemic which is going around the world. America is behind the proverbial eight ball because of Trump’s attempt to undo the work of his predecessor, Barack Obama. President Obama had developed an offi ce to administer epidemics and pandemics. Trump closed the offi ce and cleared out the staff. Now we need the expertise of that office. With people hearing Trump’s lies, they can clearly see the effects of his lying and ineptness. I think people will make their choice between Biden and Bernie. Trump has called the Pandemic a hoax, designed by the Democrats to destroy him. Trump says he has been told he has a natural medical ability and has figured it out. He says he should have been a doctor. With 65 Americans dead, as of this writing, because we have no ability to test whether a person has the virus, thousands may be infected with the disease, but we don’t know because we have no plan. Others will be affected because they have no plan. Bars, restaurants, churches, public offi ces and schools all are closing and being told to stay home while a vaccine is developed. Who will pay for child care, mortgage, unemployment benefi ts and lunches for children who normally eat at school and need childcare if the school is closed? Both Biden and Bernie say that the effects and losses a family loses should not be paid by the individual, but by the Government. These bills should include medical bills resulting from the Pandemic. We survived the Ebola, SARS, and other health crisis, and we should survive this one, even in cases where an employer goes out of business, according to the Government. I remain a Biden voter and suggest our readers follow me. We can’t stand another four years of Trump as President. |
