The Little Green Fingers non-profit organization held its Neighborhood Community Garden Workday Saturday, October 12, 2013. Participants worked alongside friends and neighbors to help build your new vegetable, fruit and herb garden.
Tools were provided but if you have your own (hammers, cordless drills and gloves), you were encouraged to bring them.
Safety training was also provided by L.A. Conservation youth corps members.
Light refreshments were served and activities for the kids were available.
The Neighborhood Community Garden is located at the Villa Parke Community Center, 363 E. Villa Street, Pasadena, CA 91103. All community members are still welcome to apply for a garden plot - preference will be given to families with children ages 0-5.
This program is funded by First 5 LA and the Pasadena Community Gardens Conservancy.
