    Details: Red Hen Press invites you to join us at the Armory Center for the Arts, whose mission is to build on the power of art to transform lives and communities through creating, teaching and presenting the arts., This event will feature:, Gary Geddes has written and edited more than forty books of poetry, fiction, non-fiction, drama, criticism, translation, and anthologies, and won a dozen national and international literary awards., Rex Wilder’s poems have appeared in publications such as Poetry, The New Republic, The Yale Review, and The Times Literary Supplement. He is the author of Waking Bodies., Cecilia Woloch is the author of five collections of poems, most recently Carpathia, from BOA Editions Ltd. She is the recipient of an NEA Fellowship and is currently a lecturer in the creative writing program at the University of Southern California.

    Details: Speechcrafters is a local "Toastmasters" speech club where we practice and develop public-speaking skills in a friendly, supportive learning environment. We develop our communication and leadership skills through a guided curriculum. It can really help you gain greater speaking confidence and help you grow both personally and professionally!, We meet every 2nd & 4th Tuesday each month from 7:00pm to 9:00PM. Meetings are in a large downstairs auditorium graciously offered by the Calvary Presbyterian Church in South Pasadena (the entrance is around back, near a small school yard). Just follow the signs!, Guests are always welcome. Come check us out to see if you'd like to take your speaking skills to the next level!
