August Topic: New Beginnings

Summer is winding down now, and soon you will hear that school bell ring once again. Remember that knowledge is the upmost important virtue to succeed in anything in life. Whether you are starting middle school, high school, or you are college bound, you are embarking on a new journey. It is important not to forget the basic fundamentals that got you where you are today, and I'm not talking about knowing the difference between right or wrong, but remembering the key tips that can help you Stay Strong no matter how hard the challenges.

Now coming from a Southern home front, fishing was a very popular pastime among other activities. When you fish one thing I know is that you have to be patient, which is something I'm still trying to conquer. With fishing you have to Let in the Good and Dismiss the Bad. You can't accept small fish, so don't let small minded people influence your decisions. You also get out what you put in. Putting in good bait helps you catch the big fish. So make sure you work hard to have the successful outcome. Trust your own Judgment: A lot of times we can listen to the Disney Wisdom of "Follow your heart" which is great, but don't leave your mind on mute. Having a good balance to weigh decisions is crucial. New Beginnings are destined to come to you if you trust the journey.

Jam 4 the Month: Say Something by A Great Big World

This love song is about pleading for the significant other in your life to say that they are listening; however when I hear this song I think of how you can feel as if God isn't there and you want him to say that He is here no matter the challenges. With every New Beginning, remember that God brought it to fruition.

By Building Confidence in Others, You Build Confidence in Yourself
