If you didn't read my last article, I made it to the U.S. Track and Field National Junior Olympics in Shot Put. The events were held in Humble, Texas. It was very humid. It was so hot and humid there that it started raining.
In the Junior Olympics, I did way better than I thought I would. I reached a personal record. With the help of all my coaches from the Pasadena Running Roses and the support of my friends, my family and my teacher, Mrs. DeGroof, I came in fifth in my group and 16th in the nation for Shot Put.
And next year, I'm going to do it again.
This Summer I went to the Yo Yo School of Hip Hop. Everyone had to pick their own Hip Hop name, mine was MC Cherry on Top.
I had lots of fun. I met new friends. We did dancing and singing. We sang the songs: The Worst, Fancy, A Change Is Going to Come, Stay with Me, and All of Me.
We danced to the songs: Lemonade, Fancy and 2 on.
Then we were on T.V., I got nervous.
Then we had a performance. We did all the dances, songs, and raps we learned. I hosted the program and recited the Maya Angelou poem, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
Learning new songs and Hip Hop dancing this summer was fun!
