Recycle Black Dollars this Month

And All-Year Long

Black Business Month was launched for the month of April by Recycling Black Dollars (RBD) with the support of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Los Angeles City Council, Inglewood City Council, California State Senate and United States Congress.

One of the key elements of "Black Business Month" was the introduction of the Black Dollar Coupon. April was chosen as "Black Business Month" as it comes on the heels of the success of the RBD "Change Bank Day" program which brought over 1400 new accounts and $7,000,000 into our local Black financial institutions (Founders National Bank, Family Savings Bank, Broadway Federal Bank and the South Central Peoples Federal Credit Union). April was also designated as "Recycling Black Dollars Month" over twelve years ago by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Readers may call the Journal Offices at 626-798-3972 for more information on local Black businesses in the San Gabriel Valley.

Editor's note: The Journal has a list of Black businesses to refer you to. Those businesses not listed and who want to be referred may contact us for information on how to be included. Call (626) 798-3972.
