Councilmember Justin Jones has announced the appointment of Lisa Barrios as the new District Liaison for District 3. Barrios, who lives in Pasadena, brings a wealth of experience in the non-profit and social enterprise sectors. In addition, she has worked extensively with local students and families, focusing on education, health care, foster care, immigration, mentoring, and leadership development.
The role of a Councilmember District Liaison is to serve as a bridge between the City Councilmember and the community. District Liaisons provide information and assistance to residents and businesses, coordinate community meetings and events, assist with constituent services, and work with city departments to address issues affecting their district. As a non-profit and social enterprise professional, Lisa Barrios' background will be a valuable asset to the City Councilmembers and the residents of District 3. Sectors, coupled with her lifelong residency in Pasadena, makes her a natural fit for this role," said Jones. Barrios' appointment follows the departure of Susana Porras, the previous District Liaison, who accepted a position with the Pasadena Police Department. Porras was thanked for her hard work and dedication to the community. The City Council's commitment to ensuring that District Liaisons are qualified and experienced professionals who can serve the community effectively is exemplified in Lisa Barrios' appointment. Her background in non-profit and social-enterprise sectors will be a valuable asset in her new role as the District Liaison for District 3. |
