Boxer on Republicans Blocking Disabilities Treaty

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) issued the following statement today after Senate Republicans blocked the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities:

"As a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, I am appalled that the vast majority of Senate Republicans voted to block the ratification of this important treaty. Senate Republicans have undermined efforts to expand the rights and protections for people with disabilities across the globe, and put Americans who live or travel abroad at risk – including our disabled veterans."
