A century ago, Pasadena Public Library began offering a summer reading program for local children introducing them to the magic of words, love of reading and discovery of new worlds and adventures. Started in 1921 as the Vacation Reading Club, this program has brought the joy of reading to thousands of boys and girls during the summer months. We’re proud to continue this long and rich tradition that has made summertime fun and exciting for children and teens—and more recently for adults!
This year’s theme is Reading Colors Your World! Children, teens, and adults are invited to participate and sign up online at https://pasadena.beanstack.com/reader365 or stop by the Allendale, Hastings, Hill Avenue, Lamanda Park, La Pintoresca, Linda Vista, San Rafael, or Santa Catalina branch libraries to sign up in person. You’ll receive a free book when you register (while supplies last). Pasadena Public Library’s Summer Reading program is sponsored by The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library.
