A virtual acting class via Zoom will be presented by the Pasadena Senior Center Friday, Nov. 13, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Led by actor/playwright/acting coach Dean Ghaffari, the class will feature basic fundamentals of acting using the Sandford Meisner Technique through a series of exercises designed to strengthen participants’ ability to listen, concentrate, imagine and use their inner sense of spontaneity. If there is enough interest in this free class, it will be continued with a 10-week course of classes presented by the Pasadena Senior Center beginning in January. Ghaffari’s more than a dozen stage credits include the role of Rudy in the war drama “Loyalties,” and the role of Sal Mineo in “Rebel with a Cause,” which he wrote. His nearly dozen film credits include “Kateri,” “Stranger by Night” and “Devil’s in the Details.” For more information about online activities and other programs and services of the Pasadena Senior Center during the COVID-19 pandemic, visit www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org or call 626-795-4331. The center, at 85 E. Holly St., is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit organization. Doors are open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for social services and other critical assistance to older adults in need. Masks are required inside the building, and social distancing is maintained. |
