The Home Team

"And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said,

Pastor Glovioell

Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed." (Matthew 8: 7-8)

Sports illustrate the concept of teamwork. We're to maximize individual effort for the team to work.

Deny ourselves, at critical times, of individual perks!

Be positive, encouraging to team members and see us spurt! Some players are myopic and go out only for themselves-Ultimately, looking fabulous, but making the team hurt.

That's what I want to blurt!

Get a grip on yourself-it's our Unity that's powerful-don't have those selfishness quirks!

Haven't you seen extremely high scorers do those 'solo acts.'

Off doing their own thing, and fellow players can't get on track.

They glorify their own deeds-leaving everyone else flat!

It's only when they dare to include their teammates in the flare that the team operates in the way they had prepared!

Abilities of fellow players come forth to compliment one another-there's a flow, there's synergy and, in the glory-they all share.

It's only when the talented leader becomes aware.

How can I support my team-still exhibit my gifted abilities-yet promote all our strengths-in ways that make the other team beware?

That's how I consistently help beat our opponents! Sticking with the team format, because I care!

Dear Pastor Glovioell,

There is this dude on own high school basketball team who thinks he is all that!

It tears me up to see how he hogs the ball. Some of us get good looks at the basket. He takes the ball anyway to get HIS shot. Yeah, he is good. Coach keeps talking to him about passing. We keep on losing.

Get me off the Team

Dear Get me off the Team,

Don't leave the team.

How about getting him into the team.

Have a special meeting about the meaning of team.

Take him out and love on him and say, "What you're doing is not keen." We all want you to be a star-but let's do it as a team. We can help you get those winning stats-but you need us to do it, you know what we mean!

"I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil." (John 17:15)
