Steyer: “No Question, Joe Biden Gets the Urgency of the Moment”(San Francisco, CA, July 14) –– Following the release of Vice President Biden’s “Build Back Better” plan’s focus on clean energy, climate activist, former presidential candidate, and co-chair of Biden’s Advisory Council on Climate Engagement, Tom Steyer said the following about the plan:
“We are at a tipping point in both our nation’s history and for the trajectory of our planet, and we are going to need to rebuild our country. The vision that the Vice President has laid out shows that he completely understands that we have to transition to a clean energy economy, that we have to center environmental justice, that we have to rebuild our country’s infrastructure, and that we must do it in a way that creates opportunity for millions of Americans. Rebuilding our country in a just, green, and forward-thinking way will touch every single sector of our economy, and we need a president who is committed to and understands the urgency of this moment.” Steyer has been tasked by the Biden campaign to mobilize climate voters, and this plan will be a key tool in showing young people, communities of color, and everyone who knows that climate is on the ballot this November that the Vice President is ready to tackle this biggest crisis facing our country in a way that benefits every American. |
