California and Jiangsu Province : Sister States
~ educational and cultural exchanges foster better understanding ~
In July of 2011, California and Jiangsu Province became Sister States. They have since had numerous exchanges between California and China, including Jiangsu Party Secretary Luo Zhijun (the highest ranking official) leading a delegation to California, and Governor Jerry Brown leading a delegation to Jiangsu Province.
During Governor Brown's visit with Party Secretary Luo in April of this year, the two leaders entered into a Memorandum of Understanding that included a provision that Jiangsu Province would produce a series of events in California. This art exhibition of China's greatest contemporary artists is the first of these events in Southern California.
