SBS Youth Music Festival Comes To Pasadena

Assembly Member Chris Holden To Serve As Honorary Host Proceeds To Benefit Local Non-Profit

African American news from Pasadena - Arts - Youth Music FestivalStephen B. Steward, festival co-founder, and long time Altadena residents, Leroy and Anna Toliver, founders of LOV Olive Branches, CDC, a non-profit organization serving at-risk youth, will host the inaugural SBS Youth Music Festival Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the historic Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, California, with Assembly member Chris Holden to serve as Honorary Host. Imani Hakim, best known for her role as Tonya Rock on sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, as well as portraying Gabrielle Douglas in The Gabby Douglas Story will serve as the host.

Musical Performances include: DJ Kiss, We R Remix, Malachi Cohen, Carlon Jeffery, and Na'Tasha May.

Special Celebrity Presenters include: Amber Montana and Asia'h Epperson.

The Music Festival will also include performances by SBS Youth Talent Competition Finalists.

Celebrity Judges will select winners in each school category. Judges include Obba Babatunde, DawnMarie Ferrara, Arnold Hackett, Jawn Murray, Aundrae Russell, Keisha Sapp, Semaje, Curtis Silvers, Brandon Mychal, Courtney Linsey, Smith, Kevin Toney and Lea Woods. The Grand Prize Winners will receive a $1,000 Scholarship.
