I am proud to pay tribute to my sister, Mrs. Betty Jo Ford, who recently reached Pearl status for 65 years of service with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The Pearl award was presented to Mrs. Ford by the local chapter, Eta Lambda Omega of Pasadena, CA of which she has been a member since 1974.
Mrs. Ford, nee Burnett, was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in 1956 during her sophomore year at California State University San Diego. She is a gifted concert pianist, composer, poet and spoken word artist. She coaches young people in musical entertainment, poetry, drama and often books gigs for them in the community. Mrs. Ford has resided in the Pasadena Area since 1974 and is to be applauded as she has mentored all ages and ethnicities in the community. I am ecstatic to congratulate my blood sister and my sorority sister, Mrs. Betty Jo Ford for 65 years of service with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. |
