Barack Obama responded to the President Trump’s recent remarks making fun of him. Trump said Obama was unqualifi ed, incompetent. Barack’s response was, “VOTE.” The guy in the White House is truly a failure. With nearly one hundred thousand Americans are dead and the president is out playing golf, two days in a row. In addition to that, he is promoting policies of encouraging American pastors to open their church doors and trying to ban vote by mail ballots.
Trump didn’t promote going to church by setting an example by going to church himself, instead he played golf. It makes me think of the historical picture of Nero fi ddling while Rome burned. The guy in the White House is telling us by example to go out and play, while he’s working to limit our voting options. Though he may have, I don’t recall him going to church prior to an election. I think he believes the so-called Evangelicals will follow him into the gates of hell. I believe they will. On the second issue, Trump believes it’s better to have citizens stand out in all weather conditions, exposed to Coronavirus than vote by mail. We as black people are a lot of things but stupid is not one of these. We were slaves and were smart enough to get through, We know it’s ok to vote by mail. The stupid person is one who James Carville says could be called the “Clorox kid.” I would add the “Lysol kid’. When the guy in the White House is talked about withholding funds from Michigan and Nevada, and shutting down the Post Offi ce to keep the ballots from going out, he’s sounding desperate. I note that the Post Offi ce is strong. It’s the only occupation mentioned in the Constitution. We need to support the U.S. Post Offi ce. My uncle worked for the Post Offi ce and when I got to Los Angeles I discovered that the Post Offi ce was the occupation of many black lawyers before entering law school. Trump wants to get rid of the Post Offi ce and contract mail service with private companies like Fed Express or UPS. With our support to the Post Offi ce, they are still strong enough to survive the guy in the White House. Fed Express just fi red two black drivers because they videotaped and reported a white guy calling them black M.Fs and other vile, racist names. The guy in the White House, who many call “an idiot,” voted by mail himself, now says it’s illegal to vote by a mail. I practiced law for over forty years and I will tell you, “IT’S NOT ILLEGAL TO VOTE BY MAIL.” I note that the Republican Party is suing to stop mail-in voting. So Donald Trump, we will remember in November all that you’ve done against us. To all your mess… your derogatory statements, your discriminatory actions, your bigotry and bias, the name calling, all the lies that spew from your mouth, and all your racist rhetoric, I say for all of us with much to lose, as Barack Obama says, “VOTE!” |
