I was raised in the Church of God In Christ. Last week, I was shocked to learn that more than thirty African American Bishops and Pastors were among those who have died in the Pandemic health episode the world is currently experiencing, because they kept having church services and meetings. I am just as concerned to learn that along with the high death rates of those in this Pandemic are the high death rates for mostly black people. We are getting contradictory and mixed messages from the President, i.e., shelter in our homes and quarantine ourselves, and the next day we’re told to go back to work, open our businesses, it’s okay to go outside, but stay away from one another.
I should not be shocked at much, because this President is not shy about displaying his hatred for blacks, browns and Asians. This President has displayed his hatred for those who are not white from the day he announced his candidacy. On that day, he promised to build a wall to keep non-whites out (and keep whites in). But it’s not working so well for him. Black and brown neighborhoods are ripe with the disease, while being locked up in tiny jail cells with others. It’s sort of a death sentence because they can’t pay bail. The jail brings to the forefront that preachers and prisoners are once again in the same boat, headed for an early death, I say, once again, because that’s where we all started. For those of you who voted for Donald Trump, and for those who didn’t vote at all, I hope you’re happy. If you can hear a man talk about people like he did about Mexicans, and you didn’t relate it to us blacks and remember what happened to us, I feel sorry for you, because history will repeat itself. The good thing about what we see happening is that it gives a good fi rst hand picture of what a racist is. This man demonstrates what George Wallace was. Now, fi fty-thousand plus Americans have died and Trump spoke only FOUR MINUTES, in his socalled Press Briefi ngs, expressing sympathy to the families of the deceased. The bulk of his time is spent on him, egotistically praising himself, telling everyone how great he is and how everybody should be thanking him and praising him for the good job he’s doing. In my opinion I say he’s an idiot. He was that before he proposed that we inject the disinfectant Lysol to “instantly cure” the virus. Covid is not as evil as slavery was or that Donald Trump is. We’re not just at war with Covid, we’re also at war with Trump! He is planning to speak at the West Point graduation so he can have the appearance of praise. It will be interesting to see what will happen in the next few months with the national election. I predict that Trump will be trying to fi gure how to not have an election, or how to keep people from voting. Joe Biden needs to be fi guring out which black woman he is going to pick as his Vice President and a Justice for the Supreme Court. The nice thing is that there are several excellent choices that Biden can choose from among black female judges and politicians. Hopefully we will know who, soon. We need to be radical in demanding a spot in the election. |
