The Republicans are complaining about the mask-wearing and surrounding the Capital with gun-carrying Federal military troops. Both the mask-wearing and gun-carrying troops are a response to the January 6, 2021 Domestic Terrorism attack on the United States. George Floyd’s death and a thousand other wrongful deaths of unarmed black men was the other cause of this reaction.
Republicans like Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz seem to be pretending they don’t think we need the fences around the capital or the gun wearing Military to protect the country from the violent actions of Qanon, the Proud Boys, and other white supremacists’ organizations. I think we need the protection from the Republicans who proved how crazy they were when they attacked the Country’s government. The Republicans want to talk about Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head, and they want to get rid of Mayor Cuomo for some unfortunate statements when then-President Trump talked about grabbing Women by their sexual privates and I guess it’s OK since it comes from a Republican. The Democrats are talking about Covid vaccines, getting water to the needy people of Mississippi and Michigan jobs and survival, in spite of the Covid spread. If the NAACP or Black Panthers were even holding a meeting in Washington D.C. much less saying they wanted to blow up the capital and kill as many politicians as possible like the Capitol rioters are now saying online, there would be an understanding of the Troops. The guy wearing the “horn hat” said at his court appearance that he was “protecting cupcakes in the Senate cafeteria”. I can only respond that white male privilege is really a privilege. I could use another word, but I won’t. The guy who took over Nancy Pelosi’s office in the Capitol, and put his feet up on her desk, is unhappy about being in jail and went off in court saying, it’s unfair to keep him in jail. If he wants to know what’s unfair, I have a book of lynching’s called, “Without Sanctuary”. I have a four hundred-year history of my ancestors in slavery, working for free because of public violence and lynching with impunity against my people. This is what’s unfair. The last President is clearly at fault for the January 6 riot, but as usual, he will come away unscathed, just as he has done while he was President. How does he come away saying what he said about women and grabbing their private parts, ignoring the Hatch Act, locking kids up in cages, calling other politicians out of their names, most prominently, calling black women out of their names, and so the riot is a small thing in his catalog of wrongs. The question is why that guy gets away with things, while Cuomo can’t, and why would people vote for him again? The question arises what Americans versus what Britain’s think of Meghan and Harry ‘s interview with Oprah. It was interesting to see a clip of Piers Morgan as he insulted Meghan, saying everything she said was lies. I want to know how he knows that. “Oh yeah”, he’s white. That makes him right. I note that Morgan walked off stage from his British television show, when his half-white, half-black male co-host challenged his comments about Meghan. Someone said, “He can dish it, but he can’t take it.” Believe it or not, those of us who are black and proud get sick of it. We are also sick of white folks wanting to talk about it. What is there to talk about, especially while maintaining their same racist actions? |
