The United States has a monster in the White House serving as an elected President. In 23 days, we will, hopefully, elect a new President. This guy has pimped his office for his family’s economic benefit to the tune of an estimated two billion dollars. The picture of a group of black folks gathered at the White House lawn wearing blue shirts and red hats on October 10th reminded me of the movie, “Gone With The Wind”, with all the slaves gathered at the big house to hear the master speak.
Black America has lost a lot of money and status as a result of the monster being in office. I hope that there has been a great awakening of Black America on the subject of economic progress. This week I needed workers at my home. I had to find these workers in neighborhoods other than mine. It’s funny to hear Eric Trump screaming that his father, the monster, has lost billions as a result of being President. Quite the opposite is true. The point to be made here is the answer to how much money he and his family made during this era? Black America has lost a few hundred church buildings, and more tragically, a few thousand homes. I recall growing up that every church had a building fund. It seems to me that every church that doesn’t own the land the church sits on should have a building fund. Likewise, every family also needs a building fund with a mind to buy a home, to keep the landlord from evicting them or pricing them out. If you buy a home you are not likely to be put out, at least not without a fight. It’s like the little five-year-old who needed to rub Obama’s hair to believe he was really like the President. Touching is believing, and owning the building is believing. I believe every family could benefit with a family member with a Real Estate license. If you think about it, owning property creates a source of wealth. If you own the property, you can borrow money on it, sell it and use the proceeds to buy another building with the money to educate your children and grandchildren and build a future. A church or family can borrow and build a school for the children or loan money to young family members going to college or other professional training schools. The possibilities are unlimited. Every community and family need three things, education, health, and employment. Owning your own property, you can take care of all three things on your property, not to mention having a place to stay. The same thing goes for churches. They need a permanent place to worship. Besides college-educated nurses, doctors, teachers, lawyers, dentists, we shouldn’t forget we also need skills like plumbers, painters, electricians, carpenters and other tradesmen and women. We even need janitors, housekeepers, gardeners, secretaries, computer technicians, specialists, medical personnel, and hair stylists, etc. The monster in the White House got his start when his father gave him a substantial amount of cash to start out. He lost a big part of it and continued the discriminatory practices of his father as he started out. His children are using their family notoriety to begin life and could lose it if they are not careful. The point is parents should have something to pass along. Even monsters have a legacy to pass along. You can start developing your legacy today. |
