If you are African American and raised in America, like me, you were probably trained to believe that white men held all the cards. They were the doctors, lawyers, Senators, and, of course, President. Tthen I picked up a book and saw Thurgood Marshal, A. G. Gatson, Langston Hughes, George Washington Carver, John Johnson, and hundreds more Black men. For me my world expanded. There were blacks in all kinds of professions. They drew crowds to hear them speak, hear them sing, watch them dance, and play ball. They attended Harvard and Yale and other impressive schools in the world. They became lawyers and doctors of our people. They invented medicines, invested in and created businesses, wrote books and songs, built mansions, buildings, ships, cars, airplanes, and won wars, even the one designed to keep them enslaved. God allowed me to live to see a black man become President, twice. Then God allowed me to live to see a white man become President and demonstrate that some are fools. The current President’s refusal to protect American servicemen and women against offers of Russian financial bounties to kill American them reaches a new low. His character is on display to the world: money is more important than the blood of Americans. The fake gunslinger in the White House calls himself the Commander-In-Chief of an army he was too big a coward to join, but willing to trade the blood of American soldiers for less than thirty pieces of silver. It is shameful that the members of the Republican “cult” Party are willing to drink the Kool-Aide and accept his lie that he didn’t believe the Putin plot. Black men have risen off their knees with the stripes on their backs and endured a lot of things from being labeled lazy and dumb. They were broke in money but rich in spirit. They, however, have never shown themselves disloyal lacking in integrity. All these things have been accomplished while being discriminated against, denied equal opportunity, denied equal access to resources and a chance to prove their worth. They have shown themselves to be, in the words of the oracle, Barack Obama, “Yes we can”. It will be nice to once again have a President of the United States. We have had a man there now for nearly four years who is acting more like an idiot than a President. The word was, “Can’t”. They can’t play tennis, they can’t play quarterback in the NFL, they can’t be a surgeon, they can’t be a judge, they can’t transplant a heart or cure diseases, they can’t compute numbers and theories to fly to the moon, they can’t be inventors. The list is too numerous to list of reasons white people they think blacks can’t is silly. The real reason is that blacks are the wrong color and that whites are jealous. I’ve been to Africa. I’ve passed through the door of no return, and I know as the Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". (Philippians 4:13 NIV). Their opposition has demonstrated that they are a one-trick pony. The trick being race was what they started with. Now they and are back to it again. In the meantime, they created monuments to slavery and oppression like Mt. Rushmore, with three racists and Abe Lincoln who owned and slept with their slaves. Gutson Borglum who created the sculpture at Mt. Rushmore was a proud Klansman. They said black people couldn’t play football, now they are begging them to play as a trade for removing the Confederate flag at The University of Mississippi. They said blacks couldn’t be in the army, now they are lying, saying they didn’t know about a bounty being placed on soldier’s heads. They pulled Harriet Tubman from consideration of being placed on the twenty-dollar bill. Why? What is it that Vladimir Putin has on the idiot in the White House that he won’t challenge Putin, even where he threatens American Troops? Tell us, Donald, because we are going to find out sooner or later. That will be the ultimate snatching off the covers and exposing a coward. James Faulkner wrote, “I love and hate America at the same time.” Another writer says, “There is no south, there is no north, there is just America.” We are in a new day. Football players and track stars are saying they won’t play for a college or state as long as their flag honors the Confederacy. Who is it that will do what must be done? The white man, the black man, or the American man? |
