I wasn’t alive when Abraham Lincoln promised that we , African Americans , would be free from slavery . It didn’t happen without additional government action , can you say Juneteenth . President Trump was warned about this pandemic in November 2019 , Americans learned about it in march when the government said “ shut your businesses down . “
After the warning to shut your businesses down he reconstituted the oversight committee to his liking , states are competing with the government for needed equipment for the health , now he hopes he is making the right decision to open the country back up . I can hope , without depending on Donald Trump . I saw the lines to vote in Milwaukee where the Republicans closed over 100 voting spots and reduced it to 5 , leaving the voters to wait up to seven hours to vote . Over 17 million Americans have now filed for unemployment , an unknown number of small businesses are going under counting on the government promises . New York now has chronicled over 100,000 people with Coronovirus , and over one half million in the country and over 20,000 an additional untold number dead , all based on Trumps hopes . Who is going to save my small businesses when they go under when I count on Trump’s hopes . I have worked hard to build up my small businesses , there is no way that I would trust them to what I consider in my opinion a slickster , criminal like Donald Trump to save them , no way . Iknow he will take care of his rich republican friends and family like Jared before he gets to me . Today MSNBC interviewed three New York business owners including a well known Harlem Restaurant and a sole practitioner medical Doctor ,all feel they are in the risk of bankruptcy in a few days , I don’t want to join them . Trump says “ no problem “ . Non problem for the Trumps Jared already owes the government over $ 800,000 . I’ll bet that Jared’s bill gets paid , if at all before mine . BE CAREFUL . By the way , the government’s promise is that you won’t have to pay the money back , it will automatically become a grant . I was taught that if something sounds too good to be true it probably is not true . As we go through this Pandemic we need to be careful and recall all the life’s lessons and recall there are no free lunches so we must be careful cautious and recall the lesson of no free lunch no matter who makes the promise . We must put the same efforts into survival that got us to where we are today and realize we can go under as quick as we rose to where we are , so the lesson is still , be careful this may be the battle of your life .. |
