Pasadena is home to a variety of events this spring and to assist with editorial stories and calendar listings, below is a list of public events, concerts, and experiences taking place in Pasadena from March 20, 2020 – June 19, 2020. EVENTS and ACTIVITIES: Pasadena Festival of Women Authors – March 22, 2020 Guests will have the opportunity to learn about various authors’ journeys through breakout sessions. Main Ballroom authors include Yangsze Choo, Myla Goldberg, Laila Lalami, and Madeleine Miller. Breakout session authors include Lydia Fitzpatrick, Chia-Chia Lin, and Etaf Rum. The breakout session authors will speak concurrently. Books will be available for purchase. In addition to book purchases, authors will be available for book signings.

Iconic Concert –
May 23, 2020 The Iconic Concert, featuring “The Mega Star” Sharon Cuenta and “Asia’s Songbird” Regine VelazquezAlcasid. Two famous and unequaled Filipino recording/ TV/movie artists are bringing in the U.S., a full-length concert for the first time in their repertoire of their classic songs. Sharon Cuenta marked her 40th year in show business last year, while Regine Velasquez-Alcasid celebrated three decades of entertaining the public in 2016.
MUSEUMS and GARDENS: Art Matters– March 28- 29, 2020 San Marino League presents Art Matters, a juried exhibition and sale. Art Matters attracts some of the country’s best artists, providing more than 150 exceptional juried paintings available for purchase, as well as original 3D creations, such as glass art, ceramics, pottery, sculpture, and jewelry crafted. Sale will benefit ArtCenter College of Design and The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens.
Made in L.A. 2020 at The Huntington – June 7-August 30, 2020 The Hammer Museum and The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens will have 30 artists participating in “Made in L.A. 2020: a version,” the fi fth iteration of the Hammer’s biennial exhibition highlighting the practices of artists working throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Cocurated by Paris-based curator Myriam Ben Salah and LA–based curator Lauren Mackler, with the Hammer’s Ikechukwu Onyewuenyi as assistant curator of performance, “Made in L.A. 2020: a version” will be presented at both the Hammer and The Huntington from June 7 through Aug. 30, 2020.
